Mps attack president over oil refinery construction

Members of parliament have warned investors that they risk losing their investment in the country if they continue making deals with government outside the law.
Mps who include Abdul Katuntu , Theodore sekikubo , Wilfred Niwagaba and Banarbas Tinkasiimire sounded the warning after they got reports that government strike a deal with a Russian oil company also to provide military equipment to the UPDF in the oil refinery package investment project in Uganda.
Addressing a news conference at parliament this group of Mps said that government has usurped the powers of the National petroleum Authority and make secret deals with oil companies.

Mps are concerned that the deals government and the president are transacting with some investment companies do not go through the ordinary procurement process.
The mps again linked the former Assistant US Trade Representative for Africa Rosa Whitaker in this new deal government is making with Russian company .
The mp for Bugweri county Abdul Katuntu warned Rosa Whitaker to stop using underhand methods to do deals with government and asked the US government to take interest in the dirty deals Rosa Whitaker is transacting.
He said that their group intends to take further steps so as Rosa Whitaker is brought to book over alleged dirty deals she make with government.
