Residents in Albertine region are crying of violence

Resident in the Albertine region are crying foul as their rights are being trampled on and now want them fully observed.

According to Isaac Nkuba Akugizibwe a human rights defender as the companies continue with oil exploration in the region, rights of residents in the area are violated which is against the laws of this land.

Nkuba stresses poor land compensation, restrictive regulations among other acts that affect freedom of expression are championed by the companies and govt institutions in the area.

Nkuba notes that though there are violation of human rights by companies they have also helped cause positive change in social, economic aspects of people in the area like construction of health facilities, roads, social centers, schools among others.
