China Water and Electricity Corporation, the Contracting Company alleges that government has failed to fulfill its payment obligation according to Ntenjeru North MP, Amos Lugolobi.
Lugolobi told parliament that the contractor has resorted to private borrowing so as to meet its deadline.
He says this is likely to cost the project much more than estimated, thus risking tax payer’s money.

Government last year borrowed 483 million dollars (about 1.4 trillion shillings) to construct Isimba dam, projected to produce about 83 Megawatts of electricity.
