PWD want government to allocate more funds towards their empowerment.

Representatives of Persons With Disabilities (PWD)in Parliament have asked government to increase on the 3billion allocation for their empowerment.

The funds are provided by government to cater for special interest groups but reports indicate less or very few people benefit from it due to prolonged bureaucracy and paper work at different levels.

Hon. Safia Nalule Juuko, who represents PWDs in Parliament says they have benefited from the fund and pessimistic that they may benefit from the 43billion Uganda women entrepreneurship fund.

They revealed this while discussing the fund with gender ministry officials where State Minister for Gender, Peace Mutuuzo, put it that all women should compete for these funds but special arrangements shall be discussed for the different interest groups.
