A plane in Indonesia, Lion Air flight, has crashed into the sea with over 181 passengers and 7 crew members on board only minutes after taking off from Jakarta.

The National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB) spokesman, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, posted on twitter items that were discovered by the rescue team including photos of debris, a crushed smartphone, books, bags and parts of the aircraft fuselage.

The plane was also carrying a child and two babies Nugroho reported.

A Search And Rescue team has already been deployed to the scene and is  coordinated by Basarnas.

The agency spokesman has also stressed that Sonar technology is being used for aircraft detection on the seabed.

So far, a total of 24 bodies have been recovered and no survivor is expected according to the nature of the accident.

The accident is the first reported that involves a Boeing 737 MAX, an updated, widely-sold aircraft that is more fuel-efficient.

The crash happens at the time when the European Union and America had just lifted bans on Indonesian airlines and therefore leaves a rift to the country’s aviation status.
