.Civil Society Organizations(CSOs) working in the area of Gender Based Violence want the DPC of Kira Road Police Station who is said to have been compromised to mishandle the file of the girl who was raped prosecuted.

This follows  a 23 year old female Ugandan  gang raped by Pakistan investors

The CSOs that have been led by the Uganda Association of Women Lawyers (FIDA) say there could even be more cases of this nature that may have been committed on women without then receiving justice because of the greed of individuals in the police.

Addressing a press conference at the FIDA Head Offices in Kampala, the Executive Director Center for Domestic Violence Prevention Tina Musuya says by prosecuting the DPC, it will teach a lesson to other police office with an intention of doing the same.

Musuya has called for a victim protection unit to help protect the victims from people who would like to harm them.
